End of an Era in Indian Music

A legend who is not bound by any age or generation and who solely represents the Indian Music today bids farewell to this world and brings an end to Indian Music Era.

The legendary Singer Lata Mangeshkar, who has sung more that 30000 songs in 36 different languages has not only won millions of hearts and the title of "Nightingale of India", but she has been truly a Bharat Ratna, whose loss has been mourned by fans in India and abroad.

" Ajeeb dastana hai ye" that started when she was merely 5 years old and will never end as her songs will always remain alive even with the generations to come.

Every song of her is a tale of many emotions that people of all ages can relate to. Whether its love or sad songs, religious or patriotic songs, we have listened to them all at some point or the other.

" Ae mere watan ke logon" ho ya phir " luka chuppi bahot hui", we get the true patriotic feelings by the timeless songs sung by her and these have united the country as a whole irrespective of religion or caste.

She has given her soulful voice to some eternal religious songs like "Satyam Shivam Sundaram", " O Paalan Haare", " Ek tu hi Barosa" , " Yashomati Maiya se Bole Nandlala", which serves as the first songs to be performed by kids in schools.

Few of my favorites are:
1. Tera Bina Zindagi Mein
2. Tu Jahan Jahan Chalega
3. Ek Pyar Ka Nahma Hai
4. Kora Kaagaz Tha Ye Maan Mera
5. Rahe Na Rahen Hum
6. Zindagi Ki Na Toote Ladi
7. Do Pal Ruka
8. Naina Barse Rim Jhim
9. Ajeeb Daastan Hain Ye
10. Tukhe Dekha To

and the list is also endless...

"Meri Aawaz hi pehchan hai"
This "Queen of Melody" has been blessed by Saraswati Maa and has been an idol to all artists. Co-incidently today she bids farewell accompanying Maa Saraswati on her Visarjan.

This was my small tribute to the timeless human that will always rule our hearts through her voice forever.

Ganpati Mahotsav for me

Ganesha has always been an integral part of my life since the very beginning as Lord Shiva has been the idol God we worship everyday and so before offering our prayers to him it is important to start with Ganesha or as I call him Gannu Bhaiya as it makes an indepth connection of mine with my God.

When I started celebrating Ganpati Mahotsav approv 6 years before I hardly knew its importance. It was more like a celebration and sharing happiness.
But this year, Covid-19 has taught a lot to all of us about different perspectives of life. And I have taken all the positives. So as I always want everything to be logically correct and acceptable, I started exploring about Ganesha and just the fact that he is the Vighnaharta, was enough reason for me indulge myself to his devotion.
Keeping all the Covid precautions in mind, I decide to make my own ganpati, eco-friendly ofcourse, as I always wanted so that we can do visarjan at home only.
And my thought did work and looked so simple to me. I was very clear about what I have to do abd confident about that it will work.
So my journey with Ganesha begin with preparing the right soil clay and gving it the right shape and look of cute little Ganpati as you can refer to the pictures.
My 4 years old son really enjoyed the whole journey of creating Ganpati Idol, Ganpati rangoli, DIY temple, DIY diya stand, the decorations, preparations of different kinds of modak and pooja vidhis for 5 days and visarjan that we did in a pot and converted a beautiful plant out of it. It was no less than a great celebration and feeling of happiness which I believe comes with the Aura of Ganpati.
So yes there are a lot of things that holds importance like Ganpati is the symbol of auspiciousness and new beginnings, he is known to take away all negative aura around, modak is the healthiest sweet that we offer to Ganesha, and this year requires special devotion as this year has taught us the new meaning or I should say the lost meaning of life that we have regained, the importance of family, relations, friends, importance of giving time to our health, to keep the environment clean, to stop running to get to the top but the actual essence of life ehich is to live life to the fullest.
My prayers to Lord Ganesha are to thank him for reminding us about what life is, the world needed this lesson as we were selfish enough to destroy our environment and relations and to keep everyone safe from this tragic disease.
This was my take and my way of celebrating Ganpati Mahotsav. Look forward to your experiences.
True prayers are always heard.
Ganpati Bappa Moriya
Agle Varshi Laukariya!

Life is Precious

Its been a week since Actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide and the whole nation is still mourning its death. I have not witnessed this much of anger, frustration, outspoken atmosphere before for anybody who has committed suicide. We even mourn the death of our martyrs who fight for our safety for a day or two and we forget but what is it that is connecting the whole nation with Sushant.

Here are the possibilities:
1. Yes he was a great actor and dancer and we all loved his worked.
2. He always seemed happy so his death was a great shock.
3. Most importantly what I feel is that he was a newcommer for Bollywood without any Godfather and created a space for himself with his talent. This is something which makes us all identify with him as a human being. The majority is like him, who tries to achieve his/her dreams in pre-dominated world, faces nepotism, racism, sexism and still succeeds but loses our true souls and individuality because it takes a lot to succeed and defeat these challenges. And this is prevalent in almost all fields and careers.
4. And so when we identify with some person, we try to attach our grief with him and the sad feeling continues...

Lets understand Death with two sets of people, On the one hand, we have youngsters enrolling for Army, Navy, Airforce, who knowingly takes the risk for their life for the sake of their nation and native citizens and on the other hand we have people, mostly youngsters from age group of 16 - 40, considering themselves as failure, committing suicide and taking away the most beautiful blessing of life - YOURSELF.

Having said that I am totally against the ideation behind committing suicide. Yes, a person who does so is obviously not in complete control over mind and most probably suffering from Depression. Yes all of us, in our lives faces certain angel of depression at certain stages of our lives. But I have read real life stories of girls facing sexual abuse since childhood, getting into drugs and depression and recovering from that torture, I have stories of people who became totally handicapped due to accidents and become bed-ridden and getting recovered from depression of losing their bodies, I have read real life stories of people who became suddenly bankrupt and lost everything and recovered from that financial crisis and became millionaires again, I have read real life stories of people who loses their complete family due to some mishappening and recover from the feeling of being alone.
So, now I wonder what made a successful actor like Sushant Singh Rajput who has achieved so much at such a quick pace in his life, who was educated, had a brilliant brain, was so talented as an actor and dancer, who had his father and four sisters with him, who was living in his dream house and was driving his dream machine, had a girlfriend,  had good projects in hand, used to talk about science, philosophy,  astronomy and what not, had millions of fan - followers, what on Earh can make him do this?
When I heard about it for the complete 1 day I kept on thinking, please this be a wrong news because its not that I was his die-hard fan, but its sad when anybody commits suicide. Hundreds of people are dying everyday due to Covid-19 Pandemic and everyone is praying to get rid of this, to give strength to those who are suffering,  to remain safe and heathly because we have a realisation how precious our lives are,  we want to live for the people we love, we want to live to fulfil our dreams and most importantly we want to live for ourselves. Then how can a person like him, with all the resources available cannot beat his depression and takes away his own precious life?
Every Media resource today is doing their own set of investigation to gain some TRPs and clicks and creating probable stories.

What according to me could be the reasons are:
1. He was losing work due to nepotism and was unable to face them. In this case his mindset would have been of a person who is not grateful for his achievements but due to the unfulfilled desires of his own next level of success, or the fear of losing further projects, he felt like a loser and committed suicide.
2. He was emotionally depressed due to his love life.
3. He became drug addict and lost his senses and actions.
4. He became financially so weak that he will have to leave all the luxuries that he was enjoying, and the fear of losing his stature that he achieved with so much of hardwork made him kill himself.
I cnt think of any further reasons but even if their might be something else, nothing should become so powerful to control your mind, than yourself.

The biggest issue is with our Education System. Today in these difficult times, everybody is talking about doing Yoga and Meditation, self care, being Humane, Being Positive,  and so on.
Why does our Education System not teach these things at the initial stages of life?
If we can teach h a 10 years old how to make a PowerPoint Presentation, &15 years old, the chemical and mathematical formulations; why cant we teach them the importance of Being born as a Human, the philosophy of life, The Power of Yoga, Mediation and Positive Thinking.
The highest number of suicide cases in our country are of children studying in 10th or 12th, preparing for Entrance Exams, pursuing Medical, Engineering or Chartered Accountancy. Then we have women committing suicide due to domestic and sexual violence. Why on Earth cnt we teach people at such an early stage to being Human?
And why cnt our generation who has now become so concious, can teach our kids and laid their foundation so strong that they cna face every adverticity of life?
Talk more to people around you and make your kids your friends. There is no depression and no reason on this Earth that can make a person commit suicide if it gets identified and cured at the right time. Let us lay the foundation of our upcoming generation so strong that they can alone face the problems and lear  to move on. Life will become more difficult each day, and so do we all have to prepare our minds and souls for the same. Learn different methods of relaxation techniques, Learn to be grateful, the art of gratitude, teach your children how to face life well in advance, do not let fear take a route inside them, rather make them fierce and human at the same time.
I really wish that someday this post might bring about 1% change in somebody's life and they just give more time to themselves before taking theor own lives.
Do not worry about your education,  your career, your financial status, do whats makes you happy, chose a career of your interest, job thT you enjoy, let your relations flourish and you will yourself become a Happy and blossomed soul.
And as I always believe , "Life is short to spread even Love, why to bring in any other emotion to waste few precious minutes."
Every Life is Precious and Every Minute of Life is Precious.  Spend it with Love and Affection.

The divine feeling called Motherhood

From the day I conceived to the time I have given birth to you, I was living in a dream world imagining you every single moment, feeling you inside me, talking to you, praying for you, eating for you, laughing for you and waking up for you all night. The period of 9 months has been great as I was completely attached to you and has done my best to see you grow inside me. I still remember how it felt when we have seen you in my first ultrasound. We both, me and your father, cried to see you and felt out of this world. You tied us even stronger with your presence in our lives.

It is a rebirth for me@ 16th nov. The day began with pains, nervousness and excitement to take you in my hands. I had no expectations how the pains going to be, I never wanted to know before and I don't even want to talk about them... it has all fade away and all I remember is when you came out and the doctor put you on my stomach, your first cry and I cried along with happiness, the first sight I had of you and you were looking at me too and I felt complete that moment.

Today you have completed 1 month but for me everytime I take you in my hands is like the first time. I feel so blessed to have you in my life, take you in my hands, talk to you, make you laugh, feed you, hug you,  pamper you, love you, kiss you, see you grow and do everything that I can for you. Something connects us so deeply and it shows in every expression you give to me. The way you hold on me when I hug you explains the connection we both feel with each other. It can go endless as there is so much inside me to share and express but all I want to do is to thank you for coming in my life and thank God for this wonderful blessing he has given me. Indeed being a mother is the best feeling of this world.

A CELEBRATORY NOTE

It was like the world is a stage
And all eyes are set on me

It was my grand Commonwealth experience
that I am sharing

My mind was at peace
though I worked 20 x 7
With so much pressure on Earth
I felt like in Heaven

New friends, new collegues, new vibes
In a week, we felt like ages have passed
We grew closer n closer n closer
Amongst so much of work, we laughed n laughed n laughed

The day came with the great spectacle
N mixed our laughter with the tears of happiness
It seems we were special and lucky
As we enjoyed evry second with full of madness

This was my Commonwealth experience that has again come alive
As I got the Pleasure to Witness it live!

I congratulate each one of Us in completion of 1 year of our Bonding and great experiece that we had together!
Cheers!
Suhani
